Cancel domain
The registrant of the domain name should approach his registrar with the request that the domain name be cancelled. You cannot apply directly to DNS.be; only your registrar is authorised to manage your domain name.Deleted domain names are not freed immediately but are being put "in quarantine" for 40 days. During that period the domain name is not active, no updates can be executed and no one else can register it. The registrar who put the domaine name in quarantine can reinstore it using the identical details (reactivate). A transfer initiated before or during the quarantine can be finalised as well.
More information about pricing can be found here.
Please note !
If you do no intend to extend your domain name registration, it is important that you inform your registrar of this in good time. Your registrar can tell you exactly when your domain name expires. If the renewal date has passed, your registrar will be automatically invoiced for a new period. It is possible that your registrar will then ask you to pay for another year.
Every registrar has its own internal invoicing regulations. Some registrars expect you to pay the invoice before your domain name expires, so that they know whether your registration should be extended or not. It is up to you to find out in advance. DNS.be will not intervene in disputes of this kind between registrants and registrars.
